“Animals are reliable, many full of love, true in their affections, predictable in their actions, grateful and loyal. Difficult standards for people to live up to” Alfred A. Montapert.
Your pet is probably a huge part of your family; sharing the sofa, sleeping on your bed (while you are cramped on one side!), riding in the car, being your exercise buddy, and maybe even your holiday mate too! You probably would be lost without your furry companion, I know I would!
I now want to turn your focus to the number one reason as to why your pet must be fed a ‘biological appropriate raw food’ or ‘bones and raw food’ diet (known as BARF); and that is to avoid the numerous diseases that affect too many dogs and cats. Common degenerative diseases such as obesity, diabetes, liver and kidney disease, arthritis and cancer can be a direct result of poor nutrition in the form of a highly processed and poor-quality diet we know as commercial pet food.
When feeding a BARF diet, your pet will be eating fresh raw meaty bones, muscle meat, fruit and vegetables, offal as well as a range of other natural ingredients to enrich the diet. In a nutshell, your pet will be consuming a diet as close as possible to their wild ancestors the wolf and the African Wildcat. What better way could there be to support the health and longevity of your pet?
As we become mindful about the dangers associated with processed and packaged foods with our own health, we desperately need to do the same for our pets. Knowledge is power, and when you witness just how much happier and healthier your pet is when consuming a raw food diet, what could be a more deserving and empowering experience!
