About Paw Health Pet Nutrition
Welcome to Paw Health Pet Nutrition.
I am a Qualified Nutritionist for both dogs and cats graduating from the National College of Traditional Medicine in 2016.
It is my mission to help both dogs and cats be healthy and happy with fresh raw food, and feeding a biological diet is the best way to achieve this!
I believe a raw food diet doesn’t have to be confusing, complicated, or overly expensive. For these reasons, I create diets for both dogs and cats which are simple, convenient, and easy to follow without compromising on your pet’s health – you’ll be a pro in no time!
It’s all achievable with a BARF diet (biological appropriate raw food or bones and raw food) which consist of whole or minced raw meaty bones, muscle meat, fruit and vegetables, offal, and a range of natural food supplements to enhance the diet.
My meal packages offer the traditional BARF style of feeding for cats and small dogs and a BARF diet with a twist suitable for medium to large breed dogs, or dogs of all sizes with a healthy appetite!
A raw food diet will require just a little bit of your time and effort, but the long-term rewards are undeniably worthwhile. It is a very empowering experience just knowing exactly what your pet is consuming by making the food yourself, and you will have me to help and support you on the journey to make it all humanly possible!
Every pet is unique and that is why I customise the diet to suit the needs of growing puppies and kittens, fussy pets, healthy pets, miniature to giant breed pets, pets of all ages and pets with health issues!
Once your pet has reached their health goal, you maintain it with the raw meal package provided for the rest of their life.
A dog & cat is designed to eat RAW
‘You can take the animal out of the wild, but you can’t take the wild out of the animal’.
Evolution may have changed many things, but the basic workings or physiology of your cat and dog is almost identical to their wild ancestors, the wolf, and the African wild cat.
Just like their wild ancestors, both dogs and cats have a short digestive tract which has been designed to digest raw meat and bones. When your pet is eating a raw food diet the gastric PH of their stomach is extremely low, meaning the acidity is high and able to break down raw meat and bones without any issues. The low PH is also effective at killing off any harmful bacteria such as Salmonella and E. coli. Pathogenic bacteria cannot survive in a highly acidic environment.
If your cat is blessed with the freedom of the outdoors, he or she will instinctively catch a bird and eat it whole from the beak to the tail feathers without any issues. The mere thought of feeding your pet raw meat, bones and offal may seem utterly disgusting to you, but your pet can stomach it (pun intended)!
Both cats and dogs have adapted to eating raw living foods from the beginning of existence, it is how their bodies were designed, natural foods just as Mother Nature intended!

Hi, I’m Annie, animal lover, wife, vegan and crazy cat lady (but I love dogs just as much)!
Animals are incredibly special to me, and I have loved them since I was a kid. In fact, I can’t remember a time when I didn’t have a precious pet in my life. I have always felt more connected to animals than people to be honest, and I think most passionate animal lovers probably feel the same way!
I created Paw Health Pet Nutrition because I wanted to help dogs & cats. After working in the Corporate world for many years, I experienced burnout and a decline in my wellbeing. I found a way back to good health by turning to Mother Nature for the answers, and I did this mostly with eating a clean healthy diet, as well as other healing modalities such as yoga and meditation.
My own pets were experiencing health related issues linked to commercial pet foods including weight gain, food allergies, food intolerance and dental disease…sound familiar? So I was very determined to get my pets healthy again with a better diet too, but like many people, I was confused about the myriad of information on Google, and if a raw diet was going to be nutritionally balanced.
A career change put me in the direction of something I am very passionate about. Mother Nature has provided us with the tools and techniques for our pets (and also ourselves) to live a healthy and happy life. Our pets are eating a lot of junk! Commercial pet food is not healthy food and that is why we are seeing a lot of unnecessary disease such as kidney and dental disease, diabetes, and cancer and many more. Both dogs and cats need to be consuming a fresh raw diet. If the basic rules of nature are followed, your pet will flourish, it’s that simple!
I studied nutrition and herbs with the National College of Traditional Medicine (NCTM). I have a Certificate in both Nutrition and Herbal Medicine for Companion Pets and am a member of the Small Animal Naturopathic Association (SAENA). I am based in Melbourne but help all pet owners Australia wide!
I have helped many pet owners in Australia transition their pets to a healthy raw food diet with wonderful results. If you are looking at doing the same for your pet, you are certainly in the right place, and I would love to help both you and your beloved pet achieve the same goal!
